Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese medicine, and Chinese medicine is a comprehensive system of holistic medicine that utilizes acupuncture, herbs, and manual therapy to treat symptoms of concern. Monica combined two of her major passions in coming to Revive Acupuncture, treating infertility and pain. After raising her two children, Monica yearned to do clinical work helping other. She decided to pursue a degree in Chinese medicine and become a licensed acupuncturist. Monica loves the fertility field and is inspired to help her patients achieve their goals. When her children were little, she volunteered and served on the board of the Santa Clara chapter of Nursing Mothers’ Counsel assisting new mothers with breastfeeding and milk supply issues. Now she relishes helping new mothers using acupuncture and Chinese herbs to assist with low milk supply and other common breastfeeding problems.

Monica also holds a certificate in Integrative Sports Medicine Acupuncture from Five Branches University, and she has worked in several practices treating primarily pain and injuries. Dr. Ally Cook is a California board-licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She completed her master’s and doctorate degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University. Ally specializes in the treatment of pain management and sports injury, post-stroke rehabilitation, digestive issues, fertility, reproductive health and mood regulation. Ally is a dedicated yoga practitioner, and has taught for over 10 years. Her interest in the body and bioenergetics inspired her to delve deeper into Traditional Chinese Medicine and explore diverse approaches of healing and creating health.

In her work, Ally integrates the wisdom of East Asian medicine with modern scientific research and principles of functional medicine to optimize mind, body and spirit. Ally is passionate about working with each of her patients to improve their health and wellbeing. During treatment, she uses a variety of styles, including Master Tung, Zhu’s scalp acupuncture, the Balance Method, applied channel theory, pulse balancing, Saam, and facial acupuncture. She incorporates various modalities into her treatments, including cupping, massage, gua sha, and light therapy to enhance treatment outcomes. She also provides lifestyle, exercise, and nutrition counseling. Ally is currently in a mentorship with her dear friend, acupuncturist and qi gong master Angela Lee.

Brent Dauphin is a California Board licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. Brent studied traditional Chinese medicine at Five Branches University where he completed over 3,200 hours of comprehensive clinical and theoretical training. During this time, Brent trained onsite at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Brent also holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego in psychology. In 2008, Brent and his wife Megan founded Revive Acupuncture with the goal of helping the Fremont community find optimal health and wellness.

Over the past decade, Brent Dauphin has worked extensively in pain management, treating injured workers within the worker’s compensation system. Brent holds advanced certifications in sports medicine & orthopedics, and specializes in the use of Motor Point Acupuncture, sometimes referred to as dry needling. In addition to his acupuncture training, Brent is trained and certified in Tuina, a form of Chinese massage used in conjunction with acupuncture for treating pain.  Brent is also trained in the use of class IV hot laser therapy with the K-Laser, which he includes at no additional charge with pain management acupuncture sessions.

Brent utilizes herbal medicine and he creates his own topical liniments that can be applied to areas of injury. This serves to accelerate and ensure proper healing. Brent specializes in using Chinese medicine to treat infertility and he is an ABORM certified practitioner (Acupuncture Board of Reproductive Medicine).  In addition to Chinese medicine, Brent is certified through the Institute for Function Medicine as a functional medicine practitioner. As a certified functional medicine practitioner, he is trained to identify and treat the root causes of chronic disease. 

Brent places a lot of effort on achieving and maintaining optimal wellness for each patient. Surfing has been a high-level focus for Brent over three decades. He always looks for proven strategies of staying strong and healthy for himself and he brings this focus on living healthy to his patients. Megan Dauphin is a California board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist with specialties in infertility, menopause, hormone health, metabolic diseases, and digestive disorders. Megan is also certified in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine, plant-based nutrition through the Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University, and a Chinese medicine infertility specialist through the Acupuncture Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). She received her Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Five Branches University where she completed over 3,200 hours of comprehensive clinical and theoretical training. After her second year at Five Branches, Megan traveled to Hangzhou, China to study at Zhejiang University where she was able to observe TCM being used in the hospitals of the area. Megan also holds degrees in philosophy and psychology from the University of Oregon.

Megan incorporates TCM, functional medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations into her treatments in order to address the root cause of the health issue presenting. Megan’s passion is to help her patients find optimal health and wellness. She is dedicated to arranging complete care for her patients through direct contact with local medical doctors and other complementary medical practitioners in the Bay Area. Dr. Kathy Do graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 2002, and Five Branches University’s Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2013. Kathy cares for patients with various conditions ranging from sciatica, back pain, neck pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, and golfer’s elbow. Kathy uses traditional acupuncture strategies, as well as Richard Tan Balance Method, Master Tung style acupuncture, and contemporary dry needling techniques for musculoskeletal pain disorders. Kathy also has training in the field of women’s health and infertility, and she is inspired to help her patients achieve their health and wellness goals.

Jessica Luu, L.Ac is a California Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist. She received her Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Five Branches University in San Jose where she completed more than 3,200 hours in Eastern medical and Western medical training. She especially loved learning about Chinese herbs and was selected and entrusted with managing the herb room for the university clinic. Additionally, Jessica also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Hawaii.

Jessica is an avid learner and is committed to continuous learning to enrich her knowledge and skills. In addition to her training at Five Branches University, Jessica also apprenticed with specialists in internal medicine, pain management, and infertility. She spent a summer semester at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, observing renowned Chinese Medical doctors treating patients at integrated hospitals in the area. Jessica also pursued advanced training in pain management, infertility, and nutrition from masters such as David Euler, Richard Tan, and Jane Lytton. Dr. Beth Morrison is a Nationally Board Certified (NCCAOM) California Licensed Acupuncturist and a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). She graduated with a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from ACTCM in San Francisco and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at San Diego. She interned at Sutter CPMC in the acute care hospital where she treated a wide variety of patients. Kayoko Yamamoto is a California Board Licensed and a Nationally Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist. She holds a 4-year Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Japan and completed her Doctorate Degree in Chinese Medicine with specialized studies in pain management from Five Branches University. Since she graduated Five Branches University in 2006, she has been working with a wide variety of patients, such as pain management, women’s health, fertility, stroke, skin diseases, fatigue, allergy, and pediatric patients. She has also studied Japanese acupuncture and acupressure, along with Chinese style Tuina massage.
